WooCommerce Image Updater
Automatically sync images from WordPress Media Gallery to the corresponding WooCommerce products, with SKU combined with underscore and sequence number as image title. A fully automated process that includes the following simple steps: 1. Name your photos using the SKU code in conjunction with the sequence number to which you want to match the image. If you want to create a simple Gallery within the product you name the photo with SKU and by adding a simple number the Gallery is automatically created. 2. Upload your photos to the WordPress Media Gallery 3. Run sync via WC Image Updater 4. Your photos are automatically placed in the product gallery, by placing as featured image the image title that follows the pattern that has been selected in the plugin options.
Example: I have 3 images for my product A, and I have selected the SKU_1 option in the plugin admin settings to be placed as the featured image. Number 1 at the end means that this specific image will be used as the main product image.
The rest of the images will be placed in the product library sequentially as they have been defined by the underscore number. For example, the SKU_2 image will be the first image in the library because SKU_1 has been set as the featured image in our example, SKU_3 will be the second image in the product library, etc…
1. Q: How should I name my images to ensure they sync correctly with my WooCommerce products? A: Name your images using the SKU code of the product followed by an underscore and then the sequence number. For instance, if the SKU is "ABC123" and you want the image to be the third in the product gallery, name it "ABC123_3".
2. Q: Do I need to manually select each image for its corresponding product after uploading it to the WordPress Media Gallery? A: No. Once you've named your photos correctly and uploaded them to the Media Gallery, just run the sync via WC Image Updater, and the images will automatically be placed in the corresponding product gallery.
3. Q: How can I set an image as the main product image? A: In the plugin admin settings, select the pattern (e.g., SKU_1) for the image you want as the featured product image. The "1" at the end designates that particular image as the main product image.
4. Q: What happens to the images with sequence numbers after the one set as the featured image? A: Images following the featured image in sequence will be added to the product library in order. For instance, if SKU_1 is the featured image, SKU_2 will be the first in the gallery, SKU_3 will be the second, and so forth.
5. Q: I mistakenly uploaded the images in the wrong sequence. How can I correct that? A: Just ensure the image names (SKUs and sequence numbers) are correctly labeled, then re-run the sync via WC Image Updater. The plugin will automatically reorder and place the images in the right sequence in the product gallery.
6. Q: Can I use this plugin for bulk uploads of images for multiple products? A: Absolutely! As long as the images are correctly named with their SKU and sequence number, you can bulk upload them to the WordPress Media Gallery and then run the sync to automatically place them with their corresponding products.
7. Q: Will this plugin work with custom product types or only standard WooCommerce products? A: The WC Image Updater is designed to work with standard WooCommerce products. However, its functionality with custom product types may vary, so it's recommended to test it with a few products first.
